My Insipid Corporate Life

This post is my first experience with the blogging world, and I chose to write about my chaotic corporate life. I am not even a bit surprised as to why this topic just randomly popped  into my mind since this chaos has taken the best of my life for last 10 years, and I intend to find solace and sanity through this blog.

I have met many people who literally drool over this life, and wished they were a part of it. They are even jealous of the air-conditioned environment and the immaculately dressed serious looking people who always seem to be walking around with a purpose. I think this feeling will rarely be echoed by those who are living this life.

It has been rightly said by one Ms. Rosabeth Moss Kanter, "Ambivalence about family responsibilities has a long history in the corporate world", and my life and my story is no different.

In this world, we conduct a one hour meeting only to realize that a one-liner email could have done the same job. Where we do transformations after transformations to come out of sticky situations, and then another transformation to come out of the disasters of the last transformation; Where reports always come with a deadline of "yesterday", and and you never get promoted till as such time you look happy.

This environment is riddled with "read between the lines" interactions like "you have done a great job" meaning just wait and watch, more work is coming your way. "We will do this as a team" meaning you will do it all by yourself."Can I have a word with you", means its going to be a long conversation possibly leading to your retrenchment at the end of it.

I will share my stories, and wish to hear from you what your chaotic moments have been in the corporate world, and we can let some steam off here.

While I am currently using this space to showcase my love-hate relationship with my work-life I will definitely branch out into other interesting topics in this lifestyle blog in future.
